Greg Cackett finishes 4th in the 100m Final of the U23 Aviva England Athletics Championships

Greg Cackett had a great day in Bedford at the Under 23 England Championships on Saturday the 25th of June by finishing fourth in a very competitive final.

Greg ran a time of 10.56 in his 100m heat to qualify for the semis. Greg then finished fourth in his semi and qualified as a fastest loser with a new PB time of 10.53.

Greg then finished fourth in the final which is extremely good as he qualified as a fastest loser! His time in the final was 10.54, only just missing out on getting a medal as third place was 10.51.

Greg is now hoping his time will be good enough to go to the European Under-23 Championships in the Czech Republic in July.

"Whether it be running between the stumps, sprinting to the crease or chasing down a ball in the outfield, speed and power gives a player tremendous confidence. They are great assets to any cricketer's game and all the legends have them...."
