Why do only fast people get problems with their hamstrings?

Speed puts more pressure on the body than any other physical attribute. Speed takes the body to its limits both physiologically as well as psychologically and if you don’t understand this statement then it is difficult to work in the world of speed and power.

The body has to be prepared to run faster before it happens otherwise the body will break down. How many people who are considered to be quick in their sport suffer from hamstring problems? Fernando Torres: Carlos Tevez: Michael Owen to name but a few in football and the cause of the problem is the same. Interestingly enough while the pain is felt in the hamstring, it is not the cause of the problem. 

So before you make someone faster make sure that the body is ready to receive the extra speed.
